 watch out comcast users February 3, 2010

I just purchased and all was well until I attempted to use the REQUIRED DTA box from comcast. Set up went well until I went to program the remote as the comcast DTA requires you to use their remote. There is no code (per Eviant) to program to a different remote. If you lost the remote you would have to buy a new eviant remote. So my rating is low as this TV is now totally useless because of Comcast and the fact that Eviant did not create a code to reprogram. If you are not required to use a box then I would rate this TV as a 3 or 4. PS The salesman at SEARS assured me when I purchased that I would not be required to use a digital box.

Great little TV - especially the ability to bring in stations others cannot. We live about 35 miles from Chicago, most small DTVs do a poor job of bringing in stations, but this baby does it better than most. I use it in a bathroom that is interior to the house, yet it still brings in most stations.
As this item comes on sale from time to time, it is a bargain.
The design is good, comes with a travel pouch which is nice, antenna is well designed. Remote is small and works the basic functions well - including power on/off in spite of some comments here to the contrary. Has a built in stand in the back, can attach a holder for the remote in back of the unit.
All in all a great buy.

Got more channels than I expected, just not the 1 I wanted it for. It picked up more local channels than I even knew that I had, but I purchased it for 1 particular show that is on while I'm working from my home office and that is the only channel it did not pick up. It's ABC so it is a common local channel. I moved it to different locations in my home and still could not pick up this channel.

Gave to husband for birthday to watch games outside on patio--no reception in our area for any stations except spanish language--he says he's keeping and purchasing an antenna that will work and help with reception. We did look up area and reception before purchase and it said that it would be able to get stations we watch--nope. Oh well.

The TV works great. It sold on Amazon for around $108. It is now on sale at Kohl's for $49.
